Chipole BBQ jackfruit

About the Recipe

Satisfying, sweet and savoury BBQ jackfruit.



5 cups of chopped fresh jackfruit with seeds removed


1 Mango chopped

2 small dates

3 dehydrated tomatoes

the flesh of 2 medium fresh tomatoes (scoop out seeds)

1 chilli

1/2 tsp of chipole seasoning

2 small red onions

2 cloves of garlic


Step 1 Put all the ingredients except the jackfruit into a blender and blend well.

Step 2 Cover jackfruit with sauce and mix together with clean hands.

Step 3 Spread mixture on the dehydrator sheets.

Step 4 Dehydrate for 6 hours at 110f.

Step 5 Serve and enjoy.

Chef's Tips

  • You will need a dehydrator for this dish. i use a Lecon dehydrator. You can alternatively try using your oven at it's lowest heat with the door ajar. You would have to watch the food closely as it dehydrated in the oven.

  • This recipe can be enjoyed on lettuce leaf tacos with my coleslaw and salad of your choice.
