About the Recipe

This tika masala is a great raw vegan take on a favorite flavor.

Ingredients

Tika Masala sauce


4 fresh whole tomatoes

2 small red onions

2 cloves of garlic

3/4 cup of raw coconut flesh

1 tsp of ground garamasala

2 tsp of cumin seeds

1/4 black pepper

1 thumb of ginger

3 tsp of tumeric

3 dehydrated tomatoes

2 tbs of tamari

1 fresh red chilli



Body of the dish


5 cups of unseeded and chopped raw jackfruit flesh





Preparation

Step 1 make the tika masala sauce by putting all the ingredients into a high powered blender and blend until think and smooth.


Step 2 Put the jackfruit flesh into a large mixing bowl.


Step 3 When ready to serve blend the tika masala sauce on the highest speed until warmed to 110f.


Step 4 Pour the warmed sauce on to the jackfruit flesh and mix together well.


Step 5 Transfer into two serving bowls.


Step 6 Serve and enjoy.



Chef's Tips

  • For this recipe you will need a high powered blender.

  • This tika masala sauce can also be enjoyed with different raw ingredients for the body of the dish if desired.

  • I like to serve this dish in pechay leaf wraps with salad vegetables of my choice, but it could also be enjoyed with a large simple salad and/or cauliflower rice.
