About the Recipe
Dense and fudgy, carob & orange brownie to satisfy your sweet tooth
Ingredients
Brownies
1 cup of dates
1/2 cup of raisins
3/4 cup of ground walnuts
1 cup of ground cashews
1 cup of carob powder
1/4 cup of ground almonds
Juice of one orange
Zest of one and a half oranges
Preparation
Step 1 Put all ingredients (except the zest of half an orange), into a high powered blender and blend until consistency of a thick sticky dough
Step 2 Form into brownies shapes of your desired size
Step 3 Depending on whether you want the brownies warm or cold, either:
a) Freeze for 30 mins, or;
b) Dehydrate for 3 hours on 110f
Step 4 Top with grated orange zest, serve and enjoy
Chef's Tips
If the dough sticks to your hands, use 1/4 cup of ground almonds to "flour" your hands while molding the brownies into the desired shape
You will definitely need a high powered blender for this recipe
