About the Recipe

Aromatic flavours of ginger, turmeric and galangal with the heat of chilli meshed with the sweetness from the dates.



Woolworths Fine Cut Coleslaw


1 avocado

2 red bell pepper (remove core & seeds)

1 long red pepper

2 thumbs of turmeric

1 1/2 thumbs of galangal

1 thumb of ginger

1 eschallot

3 majool dates (pitted)

1 lime (juice of)

1 lemon (juice of)

2 cloves of garlic


Step 1 Place all the ingredients for the sauce into a blender and blend throughly until all ingredients are a smooth dressing.

Steop 2 Pour your dressing over Woolworths Fine Cut Coleslaw and stir through well.

Step 3 Let the dressed slaw mix sit for 10 min & then serve.

Chef's Tips

  • The longer you let the dressing rest after you blend it, the deeper the turmeric colour will be. The flavour will always develop if you leave this mix up to 1/2 hour before you serve.

  • I used the Woolworths Fine Cut Coleslaw in this dish.
